Karen Gilchrist
Karen is director of Redbird, which she founded with Hilary Durman in 1991.
Karen is an experienced researcher, producer, production manager, and business executive, with hands-on production skills in shooting, audio production, editing and online content management.
She has worked on award-winning television dramas and documentaries, produced and edited radio programmes for Radio 4, BBC 1Xtra, Radio 2 and the World Service, and been responsible for the business management of Redbird.
She produced the three part international series World of Difference for Channel 4, and the award-winning shorts 03 and Me. Karen has set up and maintains a number of websites, including an award winning site about male eating disorders, a community site for young people with Asperger's, and itvfixers, a national youth campaign for ITV.
She recently produced Deaf Sisterhood, exploring the world of Deaf Muslim women in the UK, and has taken her British Sign Language Level One.
